No Damage by Typhoon Man-yi on Sept. 16th, 2013

The typhoon hit Japan on Sept. 16th, 2013. Some of you have seen the images of the flood in Kyoto. But only the small area of Arashiyama (near Kyoto) and Fukuchiyama City (3 hours away from Kyoto City by train) were affected by the flood.

Thus, the businesses, hotels, restaurants, temples, and gardens in Kyoto proper are running normally because Kyoto City was not majorly damaged by the typhoon.

We are also operating our guest house as normal, Zen meditation class, and other temple activities are running as usual because we got no damage from the typhoon.

If you are concerned about the effects of the typhoon in Kyoto while you are traveling here, please rest assured that
there is nothing to worry about.
